CSUF Four-Day Protest Comes To an End

After a four-day sit-in protesting tuition hikes and cut-backs, Cal State Fullerton students are heading home, reports LA Now. The protesters were asking CSUF President Milton Gordon to sign a document declaring his support of their requests that tuition not be further increased, and that the school's budget not be cut any more. Called the "Declaration to Defend Public Education," the president's signature amounted to "an act of good faith," KABC reported at the beginning of the sit-in.
What they wound up with was a letter, which was ultimately titled “Statement in Defense of Public Education.” According to LA Now:
The one-page document offers a shared desire “to recommit to and reinvest in public education,” but does not outline any policy initiatives or make any promises regarding the university budget.
