San Diego Student Shot On Freeway While Driving To Class
A 21-year-old college student was shot around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning near the Balboa Avenue exit of CA 163 while driving to the University of San Diego, according to officials, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune.
The woman was headed southbound in the fast lane when she reportedly felt a pain in her side. Unaware that she had been shot in the rib cage, the victim continued driving to campus where she sought help and authorities were notified. She was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital, reports ABC10News, and is currently undergoing surgery.
San Diego police reportedly found a bullet hole in the rear passenger-side door of the woman's 2006 Toyota Matrix, as well as a hole in the right side of the driver's seat. No motive or suspects have yet been identified.
