Leaks? What Leaks? Foo Fighters Let Loose, Stream New Album 'Wasting Light'

Less than two weeks before dropping the much-anticipated "Wasting Light" album, Foo Fighters reacted to unauthorized early leaks with an April 1 treat for fans that really is no joke. Listen in for yourself.

Foo Fighters and its management have been working the internet in brilliant renegade fashion this year. In February, Foo Fighters made the rounds in L.A., hitting small venues for "secret shows" on only hours' notice (see our writeups and photos from the Dragonfly and Spaceland shows).

The latest surprise for fans is a high-quality audio stream of "Wasting Light" available for your listening pleasure at the Foo Fighters website and Facebook page.

"We (management and I) have been working the whole campaign together so this was always part of plan," SoundCloud's Lee Martin told LAist.

Previously, poor-quality YouTube clips from the performances and lower-quality illegal downloads were the only way fans could hear the new songs (aside from the officially-released singles, "Rope" and "White Limo").

"Wasting Light" is the Foos first album release since 2007 and it's due out April 12th.
