Horror Movie: Machete Found Under Seat In An OC Theater
Hollywood is about ice picks today, but the OC is making its point with a machete. A true horror-movie scenario luckily un-realized, Costa Mesa police discovered a 25-inch machete hidden under a row of seats at a movie theater.
According to officials, a man is under arrest after allegedly attacking another man with said machete in the 330 Bristol St. parking lot of the South Coast Plaza around 9 p.m. on Sunday, reports KTLA.
After receiving a 911 call from the victim, police "stopped a man matching the suspect description near the Regency South Coast Village Theaters," reports KTLA. He reportedly told officers where to find the weapon stashed beneath a row of seats inside one of the theaters.
Costa Mesa resident Robert Hopkins Jr., 19, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and police are attempting to locate the alleged victim. The incident is being investigated.
