Rescued! Family Of Four Swept Away In Runaway Sailboat

Officials say a family of four, including a baby and a dog, were rescued by the Coast Guard and Harbor Patrol after their sailboat broke free of its mooring early Sunday in Santa Barbara, reports KTLA.

With wind gusts of 30-40 knots and sea swells between 6-8 feet, according to the United States Coast Guard, an MH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter lowered a rescue swimmer onto the deck of the vessel. Two adults and two children (and the dog, we assume) were safely transfered to a harbor patrol boat, reports KTLA, and no injuries were sustained.
