Pasadena Cuts 34.9 City Jobs

In an effort to save city funds, the Pasadena City Council elected today to cut 34.9 jobs, and to freeze pay for middle and upper level management, reports the Pasadena Star News.
According to the article, the jobs were all vacant positions, so the cuts didn't result in any layoffs. The decision, along with the cap on pay raises, was made in an effort to combat a $5 million structural deficit. The cuts will save the city over $4.4 million.
