He had reportedly gone out with friends on the town to a club after drinking in an apartment. His body was found near the night club where they had gone.
Last night, before news Bice's body had been found had broken, a candlelight vigil was held at SDSU. The university's President, Stephen Weber, said in a statement issued today: "The San Diego State campus is saddened by this tragic news which confirms our worst fears. Our thoughts this morning are with Austin's family and friends who have our deepest sympathies."
"A National Police official said the cause of death was not known but there were no signs of foul play," notes CBS News. Bice's father, who had flown to Madrid to aid in the search for his son, praised the authorities for their efforts. An autopsy is pending.
