Dance for Equality with Moby, The Crystal Method and Shepard Fairey Tonight at Avalon

more-cowbell.jpg Equal rights advocates are appealing to the masses on the heels of recent news that the latest Proposition 8 appeal is headed to California Supreme Court and a request by Attorney General Kamala Harris that the order prohibiting same-sex marriages be dismissed.

MoveOn.org and the Courage Campaign are raising money to carry on the fight to restore marriage equality with a giant dance party at the Avalon tonight.

Moby, The Crystal Method and Shepard Fairey are the headlining DJs with DJ Dan and Jason Bentley keeping it live through the night at this fundraiser to overturn Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage in California after being approved by a majority of voters in 2008.

Lisa Edelstein ("House"), Heather Graham, director-writer Paul Haggis and AIDS Quilt creator Cleve Jones are hosts for the event.

Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door.
