Pencil This In: Anti-Valentine's Day One-Act Plays, Sweets with Melissa Joan Hart and an Anatomy Riot

LOVE BITES THEATER*
The Elephant Theatre Company in Hollywood is holding a special anti-Valentine’s Day evening of one-act plays in the anthology, The Best of Love Bites: 10 Years Together ... and Still No Ring, tonight at 8 pm. Plays and authors include The Ascent by Jonathan Caren, Wicked City by Dan McCoy, Reality Romcom: Day 98 With My Attained Pixie Dream Girl by Kerry Carney and Pasta And Love, written and directed by David Franco. Tickets for tonight’s special performance: $25 (and includes wine from Bodega Wine Bar, champagne and goodie bags). The play series continues this weekend through March 20.

BEACH CULTURE CONCERT
Tonight from 6:30-7:30 pm, the Annenberg Beach House presents the special Valentine’s evening concert: Passion/Pasión! with Victoria Kirsch & Friends (Kirsch on piano, Jamie Chamberlin, soprano; Gregorio González, baritone). They’ll be playing selections from operas and musicals, from Pagliacci, Don Giovanni and West Side Story; show tunes from Gershwin, Piaf and Porter; and traditional Spanish zarzuelas. The Back on the Beach Cafe is serving a $35 prix-fixe dinner from 4:30-9 pm so you can dine before or after the concert. Make a reservation online for the concert, and dinner reservations must be made separately by calling the Café at (310) 393-8282.

SWEET HART
Melissa Joan Hart, whom we all have come to know as Sabrina the Teenage Witch, is all growds up and now owns her own candy store. Tonight, she’s throwing a Valentine’s Day party at Sweet Harts in Sherman Oaks from 6-9 pm. There will be Valentine’s games like bingo and trivia while couples and singles indulge in the shop’s gelato, frozen yogurt, a full espresso bar, a wide assortment of baked goods, smoothies, a Build Your Own Cupcake stand, candy and other treats. PERFORMANCE
It’s time for Anatomy Riot #38 in Downtown LA tonight at 8 pm. It’s a dance/performance fest with Jessica Emmanuel, Anya Liftig and Mallory Russo, and hosted by Kristina Wong with Miss Barbie Q and Clayton Farris of the Cat Lady cast. They’ll be teaching everyone pick-up techniques and “will sing some songs for cat ladies everywhere.” At LOFT Ensemble Performance Space 929 East 2nd Street, Suite 105 (at Vignes St.). Entrance is on Vignes. Tickets: $10.
