The Edge's Edge-side Mansion Project Left Dangling

The California Coastal Commission has opted to postpone their vote on a proposal by U2 guitarist The Edge to build several Malibu mansions, reports the Daily News.

The Commission believes the project violates state law, and claim it will ruin the vista and scar the wild hillsides. The plan, in the works for two years now, is for The Edge (nee David Evans) to build "five multi-level homes ranging from 7,220 to 12,785 square feet [...] on a ridgeline in the Santa Monica Mountains overlooking Malibu."

Despite asserting the plan would be Gold LEED certified, the project has been swarmed with controversy since its initial announcement. In May 2009, he claimed the project was the world's greenest.
