LA Lakers defeat Memphis Grizzlies 93-84. It wasn't a pretty game by any means, but the Lakers defense helped lead the Lakers to a 2-0 start to a road trip in Memphis.

It didn't start that well with the Lakers allowing the Grizz to shoot 60% in the first quarter. In the second quarter a switch was flipped where the Lakers then allowed only 33% shooting for the remainder of the game.

As for the Lakers their 43% shooting was nothing to write home about combined with 14 missed free throws and 14 turnovers that the Grizz converted to 16 points. Only Kobe Bryant was perfect from the charity stripe going 7-for-7 on top of his 19 points in a very inefficient 6-for-17 shooting night. Only Lamar Odom's 4-for-7 effort from the line was the only other Laker to have a .500-plus night in free throws.

But for a team that has had problems in Memphis, a win is a win, and off they head off to Boston Thursday night.
