If you're leaving our lovely sunny L.A. weather to go somewhere less sunny, you might want to check your flight before heading down to LAX. A massive winter storm on the East Coast and Midwest has forced thousands of flight cancellations and has stranded many would-be travelers at LAX, according to CBS Los Angeles.

Delta has cancelled 625 flights today and other airlines and airports are following suit, with Chicago airports reporting 650 flight cancellations so far today and Jet Blue is canceling all flights in and out of New York's JFK airport starting at 10 a.m. today.

How big is this supposedly big storm? So big it may cover one-third of the U.S. - from the Rockies to New England. Whoa.

For those of you already stranded at LAX, we'd love to recommend some excellent eateries while you wait out the storm to end all storms but...well...you know that sad story. On the bright side: you can still comfortably wear flip flops and shorts while you wait and nosh on awful airport food.
