Local Artist Shines on 1st Postage Stamp to Feature Neon Art
The first ever postage stamp to showcase neon art was designed by L.A. artist Michael Flechtner, and the Museum of Neon Art is practically beaming with the news. The theme of the stamp is "Celebrate!" and "features a brilliantly colored design crafted out of neon and glass that adds a spark to greeting cards, invitations, and gift-bearing envelopes and packages," says the USPS. Flechtner's work includes his landmark “neon aquarium” at Olympic and Sawtelle Boulevards in West L.A. The "Celebrate!" stamp will be released March 25.
