A sexy new lingerie-love shop is opening next week on Melrose Avenue and its neighbors are none too happy, according to KTLA. Though opening a new business in these tough times should be a positive sign for the local economy, many simply can't get past the name of the shop: FUK U.

Neighbors want the sign bearing the store's name to be removed because they believe it's not appropriate for young eyes to see. The shop's proximity to an elementary school and a high school make it far too likely that many kids will see the "offensive" name.

One shopper told KTLA, "That's not cool. I know if I had kids going to Fairfax I would be real offended."

The owners of FUK U refuse to comment but plan to talk to the media next week when the store opens. They're certainly smart marketers if nothing else.
