The Actors’ Gang Axis Mundi series
continues tonight with the Monday Night Grind, where authors and experts discuss and debate subjects ranging from the legalization of marijuana and corporate corruption to the role of educators in society. Tonight’s topic is Alarmageddon: What do we do with all this extra money we have now? with author Nomi Prins (It Takes a Pillage: Behind the Bailouts, Other People's Money: The Corporate Mugging of America) and radio personality Johnny Dam. Other panelists are expected. 8 pm. Pay-what-you-can tonight.

REDCAT hosts queer cinema pioneer Barbara Hammer for a screening of her films in the program Experimenting in Life and Art. Barbara Hammer has made over 80 films in a career that spans 40 years, and is widely celebrated throughout the world as a pioneer of queer cinema. This screening presents the Screening tonight are two LA premieres of her recent works: Generations (2010), made with Gina Carducci, a film about the ongoing tradition of personal filmmaking; and A Horse Is Not A Metaphor (2009), with music by Meredith Monk. 8:30 pm. Tickets: $9, $7 students and $5 for CalArts, students, faculty and staff.

CARTOON DUMP
Cartoon Dump, the monthly live comedy-music-cartoon show at the Steve Allen Theatre in Hollywood, takes to the stage at 8 pm. Started by cartoon scholar and writer Jerry Beck, the evening’s hosted by writer/ producer/ comedian Frank Conniff (“TV’s Frank” from MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000) and Erica Doering. You’ll never know who else will show up.

The work of photographer Olaf Heine is on exhibit at the Clark | Oshin Gallery through Feb. 24. I Love You, but I've Chosen Rock highlights the artist's music portfolio with photos of Coldplay, Snoop Dog, Chris Cornell, Radiohead, The Killers, Sting, Incubus and Iggy Pop.
