Fatal Shooting In Attempted Gas Station Robbery
A robbery suspect was shot and killed by LAPD early Tuesday morning in Canoga Park after a short foot chase. Police responded to a 911 call of an attempted robbery of two people outside a gas station on Topanga Canyon and Roscoe boulevards shortly after midnight, reports the L.A. Times.
As police arrived the suspect ran and allegedly displayed a handgun. The suspect did not fire at police, according to officials, but a handgun was recovered at the scene where the man died, reports Fox LA. The suspect's name has not been released and an investigation is ongoing.
Westbound Roscoe Boulevard was closed between Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Fallbrook Avenue. Eastbound Roscoe Boulevard remained open.
