Get Out: Offbeat Board Games At Clifton's, Regifted! At UCB, Godfather Marathon At New Beverly Cinema
Board Games at Clifton's: As part of the The Los Angeles Visionaries Association (LAVA) Sunday Salon series, "adventure-seekers are invited to dine, socialize, and listen to curated talks," upstairs at downtown's historic Clifton's Cafeteria. Today's festive edition features special guests and caters to the old school gamers of the offbeat-board variety, like "Manhunt, Art Linkletter's House Party, Chutzpah (aka 'Jewish Monopoly')," and whatever else the public shleps from home. Noon-2:00 p.m.
Swap Your Schlock: Regifted! is back, and the Upright Citizen's Brigade is here to help you deal with the annual disappointment of getting crappy gifts. Instead of shamefully adding to the problem by tossing them curbside, pack up your lame loot and hand it over to UCB's improv comics who will have their way with your holiday letdown. And you never know, you very well might walk out with someone else's Chia Homer piƱata. $5, 9:30 p.m.
Take The Cannoli: Two films, 9 Academy Awards, 375 minutes. The Godfather (4:00 p.m.) & The Godfather: Part II (7:30 p.m.) are double featuring today at the New Beverly Cinema. Now don't tell me that you're not going. Because it insults my intelligence and it makes me very angry. Who approached you first? I know it was you, LAist. Tickets available online. $7.
