Be careful out there Angelenos! More California car crashes have historically been reported on December 15th than any other day of the year, according to KTLA.

Your chances of getting into an accident today as compared to any other day driving the 405 in mad traffic jumps 23 percent. This increase in danger is attributed to weather, holiday shopping and other seasonal distractions.

If ever there was a day to stay in (it's already raining!) it's today. If you're out there driving, do all you can to avoid the dangerous car crash cocktail of worrying about the price of Xbox Kinect, checking email for your secret santa's name, and looking up at the sky as you hum that annoying Christmas song you can't get out of your head.

Watch the road and stay safe L.A.!
