Pencil This In: Big Gay Holiday Show, Food of the Future, Mad Fashion and Champagne Exploration
GET MORTIFIED
Mortified's Annual Big Gay Holiday Show is tonight at King King. Every day people like us will share their actual childhood letters, journals, home movies, artwork, you name it. Can you say embarrassing? Yes you can and yes it will be...but not for you, you'll be in the audience laughing! Space is limited and is first come, first served. Get there at least 45 minutes early. Tickets are $15. The show starts at 8 p.m.
GET YOUR GOAT
Ever wondered what food of the future will look like? Sean Chaney, owner of Hot's Kitchen, wonders too and he'll be serving up a possible final frontier meal at Royal/T...all in one simple oxtail or duck confit or crispy shrimp taco. Goat Wisdom will entertain you with musical stylings and live painting. Tickets are $10, $5 for students. Show starts at 8 p.m.
GET FASHIONABLY *MAD*
If you're not full-up just yet with Mad Men madness, you'll want to check out Janie Bryant's new book The Fashion File at the Beverly Center. She won an Emmy for her costume designs on Mad Men and she shares many a savvy styling tip in her memoir-eque book. She'll be signing at 6 p.m. at the equally stylish Traffic store on Level Six where books can be purchased. There will be nibbles, there will be cocktails, there will be music and more.
GET BUBBLY
Just in time for the impending New Year, the just-opened Monopole Wine in Pasadena will be hosting a Champagne exploration class tonight that will allow you taste your way through some delectable bottles and learn about ideal food pairings. Tickets are $50 but you'll get to taste over $500 of bubbly including the gorgeous '96 Devaux Brut. Class starts at 8 p.m.
