Five Great Downtown Sandwiches: Plus Three, Minus One
Do you have a favorite go-to lunch 'wich downtown? Blogdowntown does and they've rounded up five great sandwiches to help you beat those midday work blues. We're crushing hard on their list and we'd like to add a few:
-Smoked Sliced Tri-Tip at Spring Street Smokehouse: It's not the healthiest sandwich you can choose to chase away work woes, but oh goodness is it delicious. Order this with the spicy sauce and you'll be transported to a world where TPS reports don't even exist.
-BLT at Bottega Louie: Simple ingredients combine perfectly to make this classic a standout. It sounds so basic, but Bottega does swoon-worthy basic. Their breakfast egg sandwich with two fried eggs, American cheese and applewood smoked bacon on a kaiser roll is also a morning "must."
-Fish Sandwich at WoodSpoon: Tilapia filet, avocado, tomato and cilantro on a French roll is heaven in the middle of a crazy workday. You need a bit more time at this tiny spot, but if you can squeeze in a longer lunch to enjoy this fish goodness, you won't be disappointed.
As for that minus? We'd take out the CPK Grilled Veggie Focaccia Sandwich and nosh on the Lazy Ox Grilled Cheese with heirloom tomatoes and pickled red onion instead.
If you're stressed and need a delectable sandwich break, where's your favorite spot? What's your favorite 'wich?
