Surprised? Beresford-Redman has done his best to evade suspicion, and when that didn't work, evade arrest. During the investigation following the discovery of Monica's body in the gutter outside their Mexican hotel room, authorities asked Beresford-Redman to remain in the country. However, he disappeared, only to turn up back at home in Los Angeles, where he remained free, and battling for custody of the couple's children, until his November 16th arrest.
"Defense attorney Richard Hirsch argued in a court filing Monday that prosecutors did not submit evidence to support the warrant for Beresford-Redman." For their part, prosecutors say Beresford-Redman is a flight risk. Again: surprised?
*UPDATE 2:59 PM: A federal judge has ruled Beresford-Redman must remain in custody, and has denied him bail.
