Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Usher, Katie Holmes, Willow and Jaden Smith, Ryan Seacrest and other celebs will be signing off of social media on Wednesday, Dec 1 in an effort to raise $1MIL for Alicia Keys' charity, Keep a Child Alive.

The social media abstinence campaign, beginning on World AIDS Day, is urging fan bases and beyond to Buy Life, with high-profile participants staying offline until Keys' charity hits the donation goal.

Videos of celebs in coffins are meant to represent their "digital deaths," and also, "Why do we care so much about the death of one celebrity as opposed to millions and millions of people dying..." remarked Leigh Blake, president and co-founder of Keep a Child Alive, reports the Huffington Post.

Donations are being accepted through text messages and bar-code technology and money raised will support families affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.
