LAst Night's Action: Massacre à Montréal
Montreal Canadiens defeat LA Kings 4-1. Quelle tragédie! Les Rois perdus à Montréal. Les Habitantes a mieux joué que les Rois. With all due respect to the Quebecois and other French-speaking hockey fans, that’s the extent of my knowledge of French. Je suis désolé.
Seriously though the Kings were completely outplayed at Bell Centre. First period goals by Andrei Kostitsyn and former King heartthrob Michael Cammalleri just about put it away for the Habs.
The sole positive for the Kings was recently called up Alec Martinez who replaced Jake Muzzin at defense during power-plays. The Detroit-area native responded by scoring his first NHL goal during the power-play 1:57 in the second period giving the Kings a glimmer of hope.
But the blue liners all but disappeared and the Kings looked awful playing in their own zone allowing Tomas Plekanec and Lars Eller to score for the Canadiens later in the second period.
The Quebecois Jonathan Bernier saved 29 shots for the Kings while Carey Price saved 24 for the Canadiens. This four-game road trip through the Northeast for the Kings could be classified a disaster with their lone win coming against the Boston Bruins in the sixth round of a shootout. The Kings have now lost four of their last five games and come home to face the defending champions Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.

USC Trojans defeat Cal State Fullerton Titans 81-54.
