Come on, do you really know all of your Facebook friends? As in, you've met them, spent time with them, have a bona fide relationship with them that qualifies as friendship.

TV personality Jimmy Kimmel says of course you don't. And that's all the reason to cut them out of our life, on Facebook. He's declared today "National Unfriend Day," or "NUD." To explain: "NUD is the international day when all Facebook users shall protect the sacred nature of friendship by cutting out any 'friend fat' on their pages occupied by people who are not truly their friends."

This isn't the first time there's been a movement to rethink our relationship with Facebook. Over the years, campaigns stemming from privacy concerns, time suckage, or the dominance of the world of Zuckerberg have roused people to kill their Facebook page or take a hiatus.

Incidentally, Kimmel has several Facebook pages, of which two seem to be the most legit. One, for his show Jimmy Kimmel Live, has over 44,000 "likes" while his "public figure" page has just over 10,000 "likes." No one is unfriending Kimmel today, but, per today's early Twitter buzz, people are making cuts.

Are you participating in NUD?
