Woman Found Shot to Death in Crashed Car in Beverly Hills [UPDATED]

Authorities in Beverly Hills are investigating the case of a woman found shot to dead in a crashed car, according to KTLA. The woman, whose identity has not been released, appears to have been shot multiple times in the chest. She was discovered in a Mercedes-Benz E350 that had crashed into a light pole. The victim, "described as white and in her 60s, was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center," details the Daily News.

The shooting took place sometime around 12:30 this morning in the vicinity of Sunset Boulevard and North Whittier Drive. Lt. Tony Lee says it is not apparent yet if the fatal "shooting was the result of a road rage encounter," notes CBS.

UPDATE 10:35 AM: The woman has been identified as publicist Ronni Chasen, 64.
