Family Bookstore hosts filmmaker Michel Gondry tonight at 7:30 pm for a signing of a new book/DVD My New New York Diary. Gondry and llegendary cartoonist Julie Doucet collaborated on the comic-film-art-book project that includes a 20-minute film and Doucet's graphic novella. 7 pm.

Author Matt Vincent presents and signs [you] Ruined It for Everyone tonight at 7 pm at Book Soup. Matthew Vincent looks to lay the blame in his new book, finding out why there’s a three-ounce rule on airplanes, who came up with the idea of branding every single sports stadium, who made curling an Olympic event? Or which pope made celibacy mandatory?

EM & Co presents 2D/3D with charcoal works by Rajiv Jain and a fashion installation by Selma Starfinger. The opening reception is being held tonight from 6:30-9:30 pm with music by DJ Valida (School Night/KCRW) and Starfinger cocktails and snacks. There’s also an after party at 10 pm at the Andaz Hotel.
