Here's the thing about Dr. Dog, they're so much better than their name suggests.

The six man band unleashed a psychedelic soundbath on the people of the Wiltern last Friday (11/5/10) crossing The Animals with The Beach Boys for a dark blue hue of rock sunshine that alternates loud and gentle. It's the kind of music that keeps you company between songs, follows you home, and hangs out while you're tidying up before bed.

The Philly band's poofball hats and high dotted backdrop seemed a fitting way to accentuate ">the expanding circle this band is drawing. Join the orbit.

(Setlist: Mirror, Mirror, Hang On, Shadow People, Fools Life, I Only Wear Blue Shame, Shame, Station, Unbearable Why, The Ark, The Rabbit, The Bat, and The Reindeer, The Beach, Jackie Wants A Black Eye, Worst Trip, Black-Red, Someday, The Breeze, Nobody Knows Who You Are, Stranger, The Way the Lazy Do | Encore: The Old Days, Heart It Races, We All Belong)
