Sunny Now, Won't Be Later
While you're busy chiding your East Coast friends about how fantastic our LA climate is and making them all wish they lived here as they plod through their weekends battling rain and snow and very low temperatures, stormy weather is heading our way and it's going to strike soon. How soon? Tonight soon.
The National Weather Service Forecast Office has issued several hazardous weather advisories that warn of rain, thunderstorms and high winds. Mountainous areas may experience gusty winds and anyone living near recent burn areas should keep a close watch on weather advisories and their surrounding areas when the storms hit later this evening. The good news? Rainfall amounts "are not expected to reach the thresholds established by the USGS for flash flooding" in recent burn areas. Whew.
Bummed to be joining your less-lucky-weathered friends in rainy bragging karma? Um, this is Los Angeles. These storm systems should move out of LA by Tuesday, so you'll get to be smug about our lovely weather again very soon.
