Salmonella For Supper? Trader Joe's Thai Pasta Salad Recalled For Possible Cilantro Contamination
A Corona-based company is recalling more than 7,000 pounds of chicken pasta salad because the ready-to-eat treat may also contain cilantro contaminated with salmonella.
According to KTLA, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service reports the salad in question is the 12 oz. package of "Spicy Thai Style Pasta Salad" produced from October 25 through 29. Look for the number "P-21030" in the USDA Mark of Inspection, and a 2010 expiration date of Oct. 31 or Nov. 1-6.
Symptoms of salmonella poisoning include vomiting, diarrhea, fever, nausea, abdominal cramps and swimming upstream to spawn.
