Fresh & Easy Plans to Open 10 New SoCal Stores in 2011

Despite the "recession blues" that prompted UK-based grocer Tesco to shutter 13 of its Southwestern U.S. Fresh & Easy stores earlier this month, the El Segundo-based chain has announced plans to open 10 new Southern California stores in the first quarter of 2011.

From Ventura to San Diego, shoppers will soon be able to pick up produce and pre-packaged fare from the chain. L.A. County gets its first new F&E on February 16th 2011, in Walnut Park, followed by locations in San Dimas and Long Beach. Sorry North Hollywood-ites: That former HOWS still isn't turning into a Fresh & Easy. The new stores also mean 210 new jobs opening up in the region.
