All Aboard! The Tea Party Express Rolls Into Town Today
Break out your Gadsden flags and poorly-spelled signs: The Tea Party Express is comin' to town tonight!
The nationwide campaign tour stops at 6:30 this evening in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl as part of a 15-day venture--not backed by any individual candidates--ahead of the November 2 midterm elections. The tour got underway Monday in Reno, NV, with an appearance by Sarah Palin, who worked the crowd and helped spread the message to Nevada voters that Harry Reid must go.
Locally, the Tea Party-ers' focus is on ousting incumbent Democratic California Senator Barbara Boxer. But getting rid of who they call "America's Worst Senator" isn't easy, or cheap, or in need of good grammar: "California is one of the most expensive state's [sic] in the nation to campaign in. TV ads and radio ads are expensive, and mail pieces to voters are exorbitant in their price when you consider how many millions of voters there are in the state." So if you wanna (tea) party, be ready to pony up.
