Just when you thought Largo, the hip comedy and music venue on La Cienega, couldn’t get any cooler - they go and do something like this. On Monday, October 11th, they’ll be hosting the West Coast rendition of Punchline Magazine’s Five Year celebration, and essentially all bets are off. So far Greg Proops, Marc Maron, Maria Bamford, Whitney Cummings and Chris Hardwick are all slated to slay the stage; that is, in addition to the giveaways, the after-party and the inevitable special guests. How dare you, Largo.

After five years, Punchline Magazine has managed to dig itself a wonderful niche in the very specific space where comedy and commentary collide. The site features great interviews, shows reviews, long-form pieces on specific comedians throughout history, and plenty of videos to keep you spaced out at work. And while there is a decided New York City bent, and the writing almost exclusively revolves around stand up, Punchline remains a great resource for comedy-loving Angelenos to get all the dish on their favorite comics in the field.

With the New York anniversary show behind them (with sets from Jim Gaffigan, Michael Ian Black, Hannibal Buress and others), founder Dylan Gadino certainly is revving up to make the LA show a spectacular blowout. And while $25 is no cheap night when you consider the swath of indie comedy shows happening weekly, a killer line-up like this is still truly rare. Largo, you salty dog, you’ve done it again.
