LAst Night's Action: To Err Is To Be an Angel
Cleveland Indians defeat LA Angels 3-2 (11). Ervin Santana made his Major League debut against the Indians on May 17, 2005 and gave up a cycle to the first four Indians’ hitters in the first inning giving the Indians a three runs before even recording an out. Fast forward five years later and Santana had still never recorded a win against the Indians. Doubles by Lou Marson and Shin-Soo Choo in the third inning put Santana on the losing side of the ledger, but solo homers by Hideki Matsui and Mike Napoli in the seventh inning got him out of the doghouse. The Angels couldn’t add anything else to help give Santana a career-high 17th win for the season, and with two outs in the 11th inning third baseman Alberto Callaspo couldn’t field a Shelly Duncan bouncer cleanly allowing the winning run to come home on the walk-off error.
San Francisco Giants defeat LA Dodgers 10-2. For the third consecutive game the Dodger offense stunk. However the Giants offense broke out against Ted Lilly with a four-run third inning.

Get Thee to a Nunnery! Bill Shaikin of the LA Times wrote on Tuesday that with what an utter embarrassment that Dodgers’ ownership have become MLB commissioner Bud Selig is thinking about intervening. With the possibility of the legal battle on who exactly owns the Dodgers dragging on for years further tying up the finances on the team, Selig is concerned.
And Thursday Shaikin talked to former Dodger owner Peter O’Malley and reported that O’Malley is urging for a sale of the Dodgers.
This brings one question to mind: when does the Clippers season begin?
