It's a little slow on the event front this week, but here are three things to do in LA tonight:

MUSIC*
The Grammy Museum welcomes soul and gospel legend Mavis Staples at 8 pm. Staples will discuss her career and her latest album You Are Not Alone. After the interview, Staples will answer questions from the audience and perform a few songs. Doors at 7:30. Tickets: $20.

COMEDY
It’s time for an evening of comedy at the Hotel Cafe tonight at 7 pm. On the bill tonight are comics: Owen Benjamin, Matt Knudsen, Nicole Aimée, Dava Krause and others. Pre-sale price is $8 plus a $2 service charge (until 6 pm tonight).

STORY
The Moth StorySLAM provides a stage and a microphone, and people are selected to tell--not read--their five-minute stories. These are true stories ripped from the pages of your lives. Tonight at the Air-Conditioned Supper Club in Venice is the monthly Westside edition with the theme of “hope.” Doors open at 7 pm and the stories start at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $7.
