Over 60 Bands to Take over the Sunset Strip on Saturday
The Sunset Strip Music Festival began Thursday and continues tonight with a series of concerts at venues in West Hollywood. But Saturday is the big day. Over 60 bands will play on a handful of outdoor and indoor stages when organizers shut down Sunset Boulevard for the day long street festival.
And a variety of names are included. From headliners the Smashing Pumpkins, Common and Kid Cudi to local favorites such as Saint Motel and White Rainbow to classics like Steel Panther and Slash, who will have Fergie as a special guest.
General Admission tickets are just shy of $50 and that gets everyone access to the two outdoor stages and the four indoor stages (The Roxy, Cat Club, The Key Club and Whiskey A Go-Go. Festival gates open at 1 p.m. and concerts go into the early morning.
Because Sunset Boulevard will taken over, traffic will be diverted off the strip between 6 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday onto either San Vicente Boulevard (westbound traffic) and Doheny Drive (eastbound traffic).
Because the Sunset Strip hooked into the world wide web like no other, their website provides a plethora of information, from a Google parking map, a detailed FAQ page and more.
