Meg Whitman Leads Jerry Brown by 8 Points in Latest Poll

The race for Governor is truly heating up. A Rasmussen Reports poll officially released today shows that former eBay CEO and California Republican gubernatorial candidate is leading Attorney General and Democrat candidate Jerry Brown by eight points. This comes after the weekend of the state's GOP Convention and previous surveys that showed Brown in a comfortable lead.

The survey of 750 likely Californian voters conducted on Tuesday found that 48% would vote for Whitman and 40% for Brown. 6% would go for some other candidate and the remaining 6% are undecided.

A September 2009 Rasmussen Report found Brown at 44% and Whitman at 35%.

Rasmussen also points out this interesting tid bit with this week's survey: "Seventy-five percent (75%) of those who favor Whitman say they are already certain how they will vote in November. Eighty-two percent (82%) of Brown’s supporters say the same."
