Checking out New Coffee Bar, Shaky Alibi, and Loving the Ham and Cheese Waffle

At RJ Milano's new coffee bar and wafflerie, Shaky Alibi, he serves fresh roasted City Bean coffee and the most scrumptious waffles.

The menu features several fresh toppings for classic liege waffles, which is made by Cake Monkey in Burbank. The time consuming process takes two days including time for the dough to rise and rest. Then Milano rolls it in Belgian pearl sugar before he makes each waffle to order. The pearl sugar melts to add both a touch of sweet and some crunch. Topped with Speculoos, chocolate, caramel, fruit or Rori's organic ice cream, the sweet options are a delicious treat.

Next on the menu are the savory choices. Waffles are sliced open and filled with black forest ham or smoked turkey and a choice of swiss, cheddar, or smoked fontina cheese. The combination is a prefect balance of crispy, soft, salty and sweet. After three visits to Shaky Alibi, we are guilty of some fierce waffle love and it need of an alibi, for when we crave some more.

Shaky Alibi is located at 7401 Beverly Boulevard.
