Candlelight Vigil Held in Honor of Mitrice Richardson
Mitrice Richardson
Richardson had been missing for almost a year--since the then-24-year-old was arrested after not paying her bill at a Malibu restaurant. After her release she was never seen again.
Last night those who knew Richardson characterized the student as "bright," and "compassionate." Friends held sunflowers, which they say reminded them of Richardson and her disposition, and which was her favorite flower. Her father, Michael, wore a t-shirt with her image on it.
The mystery of how Richardson's body came to be left in the Canyon remains. "Sheriff's officials say there was no sign of foul play. Nor do they believe she fell to her death. The Los Angeles County coroner's office estimated that her remains had been there at least six months, or possibly the entire time she had been missing."
