There’s a launch party for McSweeney's Issue #35 at 826LA and Stories books in Echo Park. Enjoy food and drink while listening to a discussion and signing with McSweeney's contributor, Ellie Kemper (The Office) and others. The new issue also features new stories from Steven Millhauser, Roddy Doyle, Hilton Als and a number of Norwegian writers. 8 pm. Free to attend, but McSweeney's Quarterly #35 is $20+tax.

Tonight at 7 pm, following up her bestsellers sTORI telling and Mommywood, Tori Spelling signs her latest book uncharted terriTORI (quelle original!) at Vroman’s in Pasadena. “Tori finally has everything she thought she wanted—a loving family and a successful career—but trying to live a normal life in Hollywood is a little weird.”
BOOKS
Two of LA's Derby Dolls, Alex Cohen a.k.a. Axles of Evil (from KPCC) and Jenny Barbee a.k.a Kasey Bomber, roll over to Skylight Books tonight at 7:30 to discuss and sign their new book Down and Derby: The Insider's Guide to Roller Derby (Soft Skull Press). Both women have skated with the Derby Dolls since 2003.
STORIES
The Moth’s Westside edition takes to the Air Conditioned Supper Club tonight in Venice. Host Jackie Clark introduces storytellers with five-minute tales to tell on the subject of Water. No notes and no standup routines allowed. Doors at 7 pm, stories at 7:30. $7.
