Severe Turbulence Causes Injuries Aboard LA-Bound Flight, Feds Will Investigate
United Airlines Flight 967 was heading from Washington D.C. to Los Angeles last night when "severe turbulence," rattled the aircraft so hard it was forced to land in Denver, according to abc7.
30 people aboard suffered injuries, including one passenger whose injuries were critical, and now both the FAA and NTSB are investigating this jarring incident.
One passenger on board described the chaos:
"Everything flew up and hit the ceiling. Glass broke all over. People who didn't have their seat belts on flew out of their seats and hit the roof of the airplane."
Emergency crews met the flight in Denver when it landed at 7:45 p.m., and "some of the passengers were placed on another plane with a new crew and left Denver on Tuesday night."
