Higher Temperatures and Sunnier Skies Expected to Appear Later this Week
We're used to June gloom, but this July gloom has some down in the dumps (many, however, are praising today's rain). Luckily, a high pressure system heading towards Southern California from Arizona may start lighting up the mood on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
"We're running about eight degrees cooler than normal," explained Stewart Seto, a Weather Specialist from the Service. But he said inland areas could see around a 10 degree jump from Thursday to Sunday.
Today's highs are 75 in downtown, 68 at LAX, 77 in Burbank and 82 in Woodland Hills. By Sunday, anticipated highs will be 83, 75, 89 and 95, respectively.
June's afternoon highs were on average 2.3 degrees below normal, said Seto. July, just six days in, is about 7.1 degrees behind.
