Get Out: Malibu Yoga, Free Trojans (Not the USC Kind), Solstice Hike, Junior High Dance
Yoga on the Pier
Even if you're not a Malibu dweller, this morning's event will be worth the trek. Today begins the city's free "Yoga on the Pier" summer series, sponsored by KIIS-FM and 98.7FM. Attendees will have the chance to enjoy free yoga sessions on the pier, followed by a complimentary continental breakfast at the Beachcomber Cafe. (We love free stuff, especially when it's food.) It begins at 8:45 a.m. (so if you're nearby, run on over!) and lasts until 10:00, but don't fret if you can't make it today, as it will be held every Saturday until Labor Day.
Free Trojans
If you need to shake things up in the bedroom, literally, keep an eye out for the Trojan Street Team today, which will be distributing free samples of the Trojan Vibrating Mini, Trojan Vibrating Touch and Trojan Vibrating Ring. They'll be at L.A. Live between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. then on Melrose between LaBrea and Fairfax between 3:00 p.m. and 6:45 p.m. Have a good weekend!
Solstice Hike
Is the Summer Solstice really upon us this week? That kind of bums us out to tell you the truth, since it means days will soon be getting shorter, but sorry, we're being pessimists. We're pretty sure this hike will cheer us up, though. Really, it does signify the beginning of summer so we'll quit whining. Join volunteer naturalist Michael at the Franklin Canyon Ranch and hike along with him as he decodes the mysteries of seasonal changes, planets, and constellations. 7:30 p.m., 2 hours.
L.A. Dodgeball Society's Allamacani Junior High Dance Re-Deux
The crazy kids from the L.A. Dodgeball Society are throwing a Junior High-themed dance tonight, and you're invited if you can scramble quickly enough to find a date. (Going stag would be humiliating!!! Oh wait, we forgot we're adults.) We're not sure what this entails attire-wise, (the suggestion is "old school," but that may vary according to age) but be sure to bring your acne, insecurity, and lankiness, if possible. 9 p.m. @ Freak City. $20 at the door.
