Pencil This In: 'Ding Dong My Hymen's Gone' at M Bar; Coyote Talk in Temescal Canyon; and Panel Discussion on the Music Industry

Tonight at 7:30 pm, wildlife biologist Seth Riley discusses Urban Carnivores in Your Backyard. Riley, from the National Park Service, will share info on the urban carnivores (mountain lions, raccoons, etc.,) in the Santa Monica mountains, especially coyotes. Riley just finished a book on the subject and will be available for book signing after the program. Sponsored by Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy, the event will be held at Woodlands Hall in Temescal Gateway Park in the Palisades.
TUESDAY NIGHT
Tuesday Night Cafe is a hodgepodge of art, music and literature and happens each first and third Tuesdays of the month in Downtown LA. Going strong since 1999, the shows are held at 120 Judge John Aiso in Little Tokyo (an outdoor courtyard next to the Little Tokyo Cafe) from 7-9:30 pm. Tonight features DJ Pomade, live painting by Mark Canto and Alex Chiu, and numerous other performers. There's even an open mic session, too.

Editor Abby Kincaid's site DefloweredMemoirs.com is chock full of funny stories of how women have lost their virginity. Tonight, the site goes live on stage with its second-ever live show Ding Dong My Hymen's Gone at M Bar. "The show features a mixture of music, monologue and scene." Dinner at M Bar starts at 7 pm and the sex stories begin at 8 pm. Tickets are $10 at the door. But call (323-856-0036) the M Bar ahead of time since it's a supper club for a reservation, too.
MUSIC TALK
The Grammy Museum holds a Town Hall Meeting tonight at 7:30 pm on Record Stores - From Vinyl Past to Digital Future. Music journalist Phil Gallo moderates a panel of music industry insiders for a discussion on the future of record stores and the evolution of music consumption. After the discussion, Gallo and co-author KCRW DJ Gary Calamar will sign copies of their new book, Record Store Days: From Vinyl to Digital and Back Again. Admission is free but reservations are required.
