Get Pedaling, It's Bike Week L.A.
Lots has happened over the last year in regards to bicycling in Los Angeles, from sending a doctor to jail for purposefully hitting two cyclists with his car to the new League of Bicycle Voters to the Chief of the LAPD vowing to protect cyclists (he even appears in a new bicycle safety video). And with every new effort, bicycling in the city and region has a chance of becoming safer, thus making the annual bike to work day a daily, not annual thing.
This week's activities include the Blessing of the Bicycles tomorrow at the Good Samaritan Hospital, a bike ride in downtown on Wednesday morning, the annual Bike to Work Day on Thursday and Bike to School Day on Friday. For those who don't live in Los Angles city limits, other cities are celebrating with event usually located on their city hall webpages. Streetsblog LA carries a good listing of some of those events.
