Costa Mesa Pot Shops Call City's Ban Unconstitutional

marijuana_leaf.jpg Two Costa Mesa medical marijuana dispensaries are fighting to keep their business burning strong in the face of a citywide ban instituted in March on such enterprises, according to LA Now. They've filed suit against the city, claiming the ban "conflicts with the general laws by completely removing the rights of seriously ill individuals who reside in and around the city of Costa Mesa to obtain the medicine which they need." There are several other such pot shops in Costa Mesa; as a result of the suit the two complaining dispensaries hope the court will force the city to stop enforcing the ordinance that has snuffed out their sales.
