Pasadena Doo-Dah Parade
Nothing starts the summer season off better than an genuine, ticker tape, float-laden, old fashioned parade, and today East Pasadena is hosting that very warm and fuzzy feeling via the Pasadena Doo-Dah Parade. The fire engines and cheerleaders will kick off at 11 a.m. and travel on Colorado Boulevard between Sierra Madre and San Gabriel Boulevards. The city suggests you set up your lawn chairs by 10.

Big Sunday
Ok follow us on this one because it's a little confusing. Big Sunday is a volunteer program that celebrates regional community service, and actually encompasses the whole weekend. While lots of events required a prior signup, they now have this awesome Last Minute Projects Bulletin Board that's chock full of ways to get busy in the community today. And, of course, tomorrow as well.

Designers Market
Mercado, the Silver Lake Strip on Sunset and the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic have a cool idea: to launch a new concept shop bridging retail with community service. Their love child? The Designers Market, a special collection of apparel and accessories available for purchase to raise money for local charities. Designers including Rachel Pally, Lillian Crowe, Raven Denim and many more are along for the ride too. Check out the grand opening today at 3517 W. Sunset.

Kristen Wicklund @ Heath Ceramics
Lately we've been digging the shows at Heath Ceramics, and the one opening tonight has us by far the most intrigued. Kristen Wicklund is an NYC-based artist who does absolutely amazing things with porcelain lace. Swing by tonight for the opening reception from 6-8, or check out her creations anytime this month.
