LA Angels defeat Cleveland Indians 5-2. Erick Aybar got the Angels going leading off the bottom of the first for the Angels with an unlikely solo homer. But the night would belong to Hideki Matsui who with a single in the fifth inning collected his 1,000th hit in the Major Leagues and his 2,390th combined with his Japanese professional hits. The Angels would put up three runs in that first inning and another two in the sixth inning to drive Indians’ starter David Huff out of the game. Meanwhile Jered Weaver continued his excellent start for the season pitching six innings allowing only one run on seven hits and a walk.

LA Dodgers NY Mets. Rained out. They will make up the game in the second game of a traditional doubleheader Tuesday. Yes. One ticket will get you into both games at Citi Field.
