Photos: Shopping Local at Unique L.A.

Quirky, colorful, handmade, and Unique-ly Los Angeles.

That's what you'll find today for day two of Unique L.A., a shopping event which spotlights local and nearby artists, crafters, and other vendors whose work is one-of-a-kind and all in one place this weekend.

"Creating a strong, vibrant and successful community all starts at home. Supporting local design means you're putting money into the local economy which plants a seed -- it grows into helping create a strong, successful city, then state, and then country," Unique L.A. founder Sonja Rasula told us earlier this week.

We're telling you: Head to Unique L.A. today to score some great items for you, or for gifts (Mother's Day, Father's Day, all those spring and summer weddings you're invited to, or get a jump on the big end-of-year-holidays). Housewares, accessories, jewelry, chocolates, soaps...Oh my! No need to be overwhelmed, though; LAist's Lifestyle Editor Julie Wolfson was there yesterday, and scoped out some great finds, which we're sharing with you in photos. [Event info]
