The grassroots movement to encourage Manhattan Beach city officials to re-open Sand Dune Park continues to push forward ahead of an April 13th meeting where the recreation site's fate will be discussed.

LAist Featured Photos pool contributor, and "Free the Dune" campaign leader Jake Rome shared this image with us that maps out just how "community" oriented this campaign is. Rome explains:

Almost 500 Manhattan Beach residents have signed the petition to Free the Dune by reopening for exercise by all. Well over 1/3 of the signers live within a half mile of the dune, and it's obvious from just glancing at the map why. Sand Dune Park is the neighborhood park for all of El Porto and much of the northern part of the Sand Section.
