The prettiest bulldogs vie for the title of top dog in a variety of categories this morning for the 6th Annual Bulldog Beauty Contest put on by Haute Dogs. It's happening between 9 a.m. (sign-in) and Noon (awards announced) at the Marketplace Long Beach (between Trader Joe's, CPK and Claim Jumper). You'll see the following breeds/categories: Senior Dogs @ 10:00; English Bulldogs @ 10:15; French Bulldogs @ 11:15; Pugs @ 11:45 (NOTE: times are approximate). Front-row seating, $5, Free to spectate.
Food Truck Block Party @ Silver Lake Art Craft & Vintage

Full Moon Adventure in Franklin Canyon
Enjoy an evening hike at Franklin Canyon. They describe their Full Moon Adventure: "Follow that adventurer’s spirit and step into the night. Look and Listen for wildlife while enjoying a view of the stars on this moderately strenuous hike with Volunteer Naturalist Michael. All ages welcome."
